SchoolBreak

Built by a parent, for parents

I'm a dad in the East Bay. Every spring, I'd spend hours—sometimes entire weekends—juggling browser tabs, PDFs, and spreadsheets trying to piece together summer camp schedules for my kids. I wanted to see the whole summer at once, spot the gaps, and stop second-guessing whether I'd missed a registration deadline.

So I built SchoolBreak.

What SchoolBreak is

SchoolBreak is a free planning tool that aggregates camp information from public sources—city recreation departments, park districts, local blogs—and lets you visualize it all on a calendar. We help you discover camps that fit your kids' ages, filter by distance and dates, and see your whole summer laid out clearly.

We're not a booking platform. We don't process registrations or payments. When you find camps you like, you'll go directly to the camp's website to sign up. We're here to help you plan, not to get between you and the camps you choose.

The team

It's just me, with help from friends in the East Bay who've contributed technical expertise and feedback. This is a community project, not a venture-backed startup. I built SchoolBreak because I needed it, and I'm sharing it because I think other parents might find it useful too.

Based in Alameda

SchoolBreak is based in Alameda, California. We operate on island time.
